You share basic project details like your name, phone number, ZIP code, project type, preferred language, and optional notes. Then we connect you with licensed, insured painters near you so you can compare options and decide who to hire.

How the process works

We try to keep the process simple and clear.

1. Tell us about your project. Share contact details and basic project intent only: name, phone, optional email, project type, interior or exterior, ZIP code, preferred language, and optional notes.
2. We match you with local painters. We look for licensed, insured contractors who serve your area and handle the kind of painting work you need.
3. You talk with painters and request written quotes. Ask what prep is included, what paint they plan to use, how many coats they expect, and when they may be available.
4. You compare and choose. The homeowner stays in control: you choose who to hire, confirm the color and price before work starts, and confirm the work is done right before paying the final amount.

The service is always free for the homeowner.

What information we ask for

We only ask for contact details and project details needed to help with a match. That usually means your name, phone number, optional email, project type, whether it is interior or exterior, your ZIP code, preferred language, and optional notes about the job.

We do not need financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, income details, or sensitive personal records. Keep your request focused on the painting project so painters can understand the scope.

A few useful notes can help, like whether you want walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets, siding, deck, or fence painted, and whether there is peeling paint, water stains, hard-to-reach areas, or a tight timeline.

What to expect on price

Painting prices vary a lot by project, area, and prep. For example, a small room may be a few hundred dollars, while a whole-home interior or full exterior can run into the thousands. Cabinets, tall exteriors, damaged surfaces, and detailed trim usually cost more because they take more prep and labor.

The real number depends on the surface, the prep work, the number of coats, the paint grade, access or height, and your area. These ranges are not quotes, and HuePort does not promise a price.

A good written quote should clearly show the scope, surfaces to be painted, prep included, paint brand or grade if known, finish, number of coats if specified, and total price. Comparing a few written quotes is one of the best ways to avoid overpaying.

How to protect yourself when hiring

Always verify that the painter is licensed and insured if your area requires it. Ask for the scope, paint, color, finish, and price in writing before work begins. For more help, read How to vet a painter.

Watch for common red flags: vague pricing, large cash deposits up front, door-to-door “today only” deals, no proof of license or insurance, or pressure to sign on the spot. Honest painters should be willing to answer questions and explain what prep is included.

If your home was built before 1978, old paint may contain lead. Ask how the painter follows lead-safe work practices. That is an important safety question for older homes.
